Package: gtk

Accessor gtk:icon-view-tooltip-column

Lambda List

gtk:icon-view-tooltip-column (object)

Syntax

(gtk:icon-view-tooltip-column object) => column
(setf (gtk:icon-view-tooltip-column object) column)

Arguments

object -- a gtk:icon-view widget
column -- an integer, which is a valid column number for object's model

Details

Accessor of the tooltip-column slot of the gtk:icon-view class. The gtk:icon-view-tooltip-column function returns the column of the icon view's model which is being used for displaying tooltips on the icon view's rows. The (setf gtk:icon-view-tooltip-column) function sets the column.

If you only plan to have simple (text-only) tooltips on full items, you can use this function to have the gtk:icon-view widget handle these automatically for you. The argument column should be set to the column in the icon view's model containing the tooltip texts, or -1 to disable this feature.

When enabled, the has-tooltip property will be set to true and the icon view will connect a "query-tooltip" signal handler. Note that the signal handler sets the text with the gtk:tooltip-set-markup function, so &, <, etc have to be escaped in the text.
