gdk:surface-hide (surface)

surface -- a gdk:surface object

For toplevel surfaces, withdraws them, so they will no longer be known to the window manager. For all surfaces, unmaps them, so they will not be displayed. Normally done automatically as part of the gtk:widget-hide function.
