gdk:window-show-unraised (window)

window -- a gdk:window object

Shows a window onscreen, but does not modify its stacking order. In contrast, the gdk:window-show function will raise the window to the top of the window stack.

On the X11 platform, in Xlib terms, this function calls the XMapWindow() function, it also updates some internal GDK state, which means that you cannot really use the XMapWindow() function directly on a GDK window.
